Aaron Rodgers has completely stolen the limelight of the NFL offseason thus far. Due to all of the rumors surrounding his future with the Green Bay Packers, not a single day has gone by that he was not all over the league news and rumor cycle. Only time will tell what decision will actually be made, but it does seem more likely than ever that the Packers and Rodgers will move on from each other.
It has been reported that the Packers would prefer to move on from Rodgers and give the keys of the franchise over to Jordan Love. Whether that is true or not, no one truly knows right now.
Over the past couple of weeks, rumors have flown about the New York Jets and Las Vegas Raiders being trade suitors for Rodgers. While everything has been trending in the direction of a trade, Rodgers poured some water on the fire with his comments on the Pat McAfee Show this week.
Aaron Rodgers Makes Honest Statement On His Situation With Packers
While Rodgers really didn’t say much about his decision and the team’s decision, he shut down some of the fire surrounding the trade rumors.
“I’m not a free agent. I’m under contract with the Packers.”
What do those comments mean? Quite simply, they are just a statement of fact. Rodgers cannot choose his next team and is currently a member of the Packers.
Fans have been encouraging Rodgers to join the Raiders over the past week during his golf outing. He has been open about hearing all of the fans talking about where he should play the next chapter of his career. One thing to remember, however, is that Rodgers never truly reveals his thought process to anyone, regardless of what he says in the media.

Granted, Aaron Rodgers has seemingly been entertained by the idea of playing elsewhere and pursuing a trade. However, he has also clearly stated that he still thinks about wanting to finish his career in Green Bay.
Davante Adams has not made the situation any more enjoyable for Packers’ fans. For those who still miss the superstar wide receiver, seeing him openly recruiting Rodgers to Las Vegas has been tough to swallow. If Rodgers were to want out, it would make the most sense for him to try to team back up with his favorite wide receiver.
All of that being said, it will be interesting to see what happens with the Aaron Rodgers situation in the coming weeks. A trade seems very possible, but staying is also just as possible. Everyone in Green Bay simply cannot wait to find out what the future holds at the quarterback position.
