The Green Bay Packers have started their voluntary OTA’s this week. Many key players, including new draft picks, are present. Their four-time MVP, however, is not. This is no surprise, though. Head coach Matt LaFleur stated that he does not anticipate seeing Rodgers at all this week. He did state, though, that he has been in contact with him recently.
Aaron Rodgers is not here at OTA’s, per Lafleur. #Packers

Aaron Rodgers Is in a Great Place
When addressing the media, Matt LaFleur had this to say about his conversation with Aaron Rodgers:
“I talked with him last night for a while, which was great, just to update him on where we are, and just go through some tweaks to what we’re doing. He’s in great spirits. It was a great conversation.”
This is a far cry from where the Packers and Aaron Rodgers were last season. Famously (or infamously, depending on your point of view), Rodgers and the front office had a highly publicized disagreement. Rodgers did not attend any offseason team activities last year while fans and the NFL world wondered if he would even return to Green Bay. Of course, he did and won his second consecutive MVP. This offseason, he signed a three-year $150 million extension to keep him in Green Bay. He is not missing team activities this year due to any off-field drama.
Should Aaron Rodgers Be at OTA’s?
There are many people who have many different opinions on this question. Some believe Aaron Rodgers should be at camp to help build connections with his new wide receivers. Others, such as quarterbacks coach Tom Clements, do not believe Rodgers needs the extra reps this offseason.
There is certainly validity to both opinions. On the one hand, Rodgers has many new wide receivers and it takes time to develop chemistry. However, Rodgers has skipped team activities in the past and has played extremely well. Even after his drama-filled offseason in 2021, he went onto win MVP.
