Video footage of Aaron Rodgers throwing a football with apparent ease is currently making its rounds on social media. The fact that the New York Jets quarterback is already doing this just weeks after undergoing what many believe should have been season-ending surgery on his torn Achilles is simply amazing. As such, it comes as no surprise that NFL Twitter has exploded over this news.
Aaron Rodgers Drops Massive Bomb on Pat McAfee Show

In a recent appearance on The Pat McAfee show, Rodgers was asked about the amazing pace of his recovery from injury. It was at that point that the 39-year-old dropped a massive update on his current state:
“I’ll definitely be back for the [Jets] next game… It’s really just for me to be able to feel more normal. To be around the guys was incredible.”

If you watch the whole interview, you will realize that Rodgers was being sarcastic about being available for the Jets’ next game. He just isn’t there yet. However, the fact that he’s making so much progress in such a short amount of time only means that there is indeed a chance for him to be back this season.

For his part, though, Rodgers wants everyone to keep their expectations in check:
“We’re kind of way ahead in just even saying that,” Rodgers said later in the interview (h/t Josh Alper of PFT). “They’re just markers. You saw me walk without crutches and throw on the field. Another marker’s gonna be jogging. And then another marker’s gonna be going through a pregame workout, probably, and get on a practice field. All of these are gonna take time. There’s critical markers I have to hit.”
NFL Twitter Reacts

You just know that the mean streets of Twitter were going to eat all of this up. The keyboard warriors did not disappoint:

Interesting quote from Aaron Rodgers. It seems like he's experiencing some challenging times, but his resilience and determination to overcome them are evident. It'll be intriguing to see how he bounces back.

While a lot of fans believe that Rodgers will be back on the field sooner rather than later, there’s still a fair share of doubters who are calling out the Green Bay Packers icon’s supposed attention-seeking antics:

We should get another update in the following weeks, and that should give all of us a clearer picture of Rodgers’ recovery timeline.
