Aaron Rodgers Comments On Possible Retirement After “The Match”

The Green Bay Packers’ legendary Quarterback Aaron Rodgers participated in “The Match” last night.  He had an outstanding performance that ended with a game winning putt to win:

The truly eye opening part of the afternoon came after The Match.  Aaron Rodgers was discussing his future in the league and had this to say:

“We you commit, you’re 100 percent,” Rodgers said. “But the older you get, the interests change, and the grind, I think, wears on you a little more. . . . The football part is the easy part. That’s the joy. It’s the other stuff that wears on you and makes you think about life after football. Tommy obviously set the bar so high with playing so many years, but I can definitely see the end coming.”

That end statement is telling, “I can Definitely see the end coming.”  Could this be Aaron Rodgers’ last year in Green Bay?  Based on his salary cap hit, it was figured he would be around AT LEAST two more years in Green Bay.  His cap hit for 2022 is $28M and is $31M for 2023.  After that it sky rockets.  For now it seems as though he will stick around for the 2022 season, but beyond that is truly up in the air.
