Aaron Rodgers’ inevitable trade to the New York Jets will do more than change the dynamic of the Green Bay Packers team. According to multiple experts, his departure may also affect the price of tickets at Lambeau Field. They predict that ticket prices may go down with Rodgers no longer on the team. For those fans that buy their tickets second-hand, this is good news. However, there may be unforeseen consequences of lower ticket prices.
Aaron Rodgers Leaving May Lower Green Bay Packers Ticket Prices

Richard Ryman of The Green Bay Press Gazette talked to multiple experts regarding how Aaron Rodgers’ departure will affect Green Bay Packers ticket prices. One of these experts, Kyle Zorn of TickPick, estimates that ticket prices for games at Lambeau Field could fall by as much as 10%. “The demand will always be there. Every single year the Packers are in the top 10,” Zorn said. “Last year, they were the third-most expensive ticket. The Tampa Bay Bucs were No. 2 and the Las Vegas Raiders No. 1.”
One affect of lower ticket prices could mean that more Packers fans that have been unable to attend games before might be able to do so. However, it also it also means that fans of visiting teams, especially of division rivals, can afford to travel and attend games at Lambeau Field as well. Ryman notes in his article that visiting fans have been coming to Green Bay in higher numbers as of late. He states that this trend my continue if ticket prices are lower.
What Factors Affect Green Bay Packers Ticket Prices

According to Ryman, the five factors that affect ticket prices, regardless of sport or team, are:
- Winning
- Weather
- Travel
- Rivals
- Unique Moments
Ryman notes that with Rodgers under center, the Packers were given the maximum (or close to it) number of prime time games. Without him, it stands to reason that Green Bay will play more noon or 3:25 games. This would make ticket prices more expensive for fans. One would assume that these game times are more convenient for fans than prime time slots.
Look, no one is saying that the Packers will fail to sell out Lambeau Field without Aaron Rodgers. There will always be the maximum amount of fans in the stands. However, in a year of uncertainty, there may be more visiting fans than normal. That being said, winning fixes everything. Hopefully it won’t be long until Lambeau Field is an exclusive sea of Green and Gold again.
