Kyu Blu Kelly Scouting Report
Per NFL Draft Buzz, Kelly has the following strengths and weaknesses:
Strengths
- Good strength to tackle. Plays with high energy and is a tough-minded overachiever
- He’s a willing and capable hitter in run support and closes fast to make plays against quick screens
- He’s a technician in press coverage, with a strong punch and the ability to reroute receivers
- He has the straight-line speed to recover. His ball skills are tremendous, with good hands and the potential to take it to the house any time Kelly gets his hands on the ball
Weaknesses
- Susceptible to the big plays as a gambler at the catch point and as a catch-and-run victim. He’s also too reluctant to come up and make hits in run support, often focusing on the strip more than the tackle

Kyu Blu Kelly in Mock Drafts
According to NFL Mock Draft Database, Kelly is a projected third-round pick. In a deep cornerback class, it is often hard to stand out. However, Kelly has the advantage of going to Stanford which a lot of NFL teams look on favorably. Below is a list of mock drafts and where they have Kelly being taken.
- 12th Man Rising – Third round: Seahawks
- Steelers Wire – Fourth round: Steelers
- Sports Mockery – Seventh round: Bears
Would Kyu Blu Kelly Fit on the Packers?
Kelly would be a decent fit for the Packers but not a perfect one. His help in run support is what would make him a good fit as the Packers need some help in that department. However, he is best in press coverage which is not a part of Joe Barry’s system.
Check Out Another Prospect That Could Fit For the Packers
One could argue that Barry should play more press coverage but a tiger usually doesn’t change his stripes. I look for the Packers to look for more off-ball coverage corners if they are looking to improve at that position.
