The college football season is coming to a close. Teams are busy preparing for their bowl game including the Wisconsin Badgers. At this point in the season, announcements of awards fill up our feeds. Wisconsin just announced its team awards and the conference and national awards are being decided. The Big Ten also recognizes those who were able to have elite academics while being on the field. Wisconsin set a new school record for Academic All-Big Ten honors.

Wisconsin Academic All-Big Ten Honors
51 players on the Wisconsin Badgers football team made Academic All-Big Ten honors. This is a new school record for the number of players on this list. Balancing the sport of football and academics is tough. With all of the practices, games, and travel, keeping up with studies can be challenging. Many of the players were up to the challenge this year and got recognition for their efforts.
High Character People
Setting a new school record shows what the University of Wisconsin is prioritizing. Yes, they want to compete for Big Ten championships but they also want to make sure that when players leave their program, they are set up for success. A majority of players do not go on to the NFL. Even in the most prestigious of programs, a large percentage of players find other careers. Wisconsin is making sure that all of its players have a successful future, not just the ones that go to the NFL.
It is great to see so many Wisconsin players on the list for Academic All-Big Ten. Hopefully, the Wisconsin Badgers will continue to be able to set new school records for Academic All-Big Ten.
