The Wisconsin Badgers got a thrilling overtime win against Marquette yesterday. It was a well-balanced win as five players scored in double figures. One of those players was off the bench and continues to impress coaches and fans. Wisconsin freshman Connor Essegian continues his lights-out shooting.
Last four games for Connor Essegian, he's averaging 11.5 points per game on 17-of-25 shooting.
That's just second halves.

Connor Essegian Continues Hot Shooting Start
Essegian made a name for himself in the Battle 4 Atlantis. His shooting performance there helped the Badgers almost upset the Kansas Jayhawks. He is out to prove that this was not a flash in the pan but something he can do consistently. In the last four games, Essegian is 17 for 25 shooting, averaging 11.5 points per game off the bench. What is more impressive is he is putting up all of these stats in the second half. When the team needs him most, he is stepping up and hits big shots.
Huge Late In Games
The Badgers have been playing a lot of games that have gone down to the wire. Their game against Dayton was a one-point win and the Jayhawks loss was also a one-possession game. Their latest win against Marquette was another one-possession overtime win. This makes Essengian’s ability to hit big shots even more valuable. At the end of these types of games, you often need a confident shooter who isn’t afraid of the moment. Connor Essegian seems to be that player for the Badgers.
The Badgers have shown that they can hang with the top teams. A big part of this is Connor Essegian’s shooting. As Big Ten play approaches, it will be interesting to see how they fare against a tough conference full of top teams.
