The Packers’ depth chart looks different for the offense
Sunday Night Football in Week 12 is a make-or-break game for the Green Bay Packers. The 4-7 Packers need to pull an upset on the 9-1 Philadelphia Eagles to stay in the playoff chase. The offense, which has not put the team in a position to win for most of the season, needs to shake things up. Their unofficial depth chart hints at a big change.
According to Zach Jacobson with CBS Sports, the Packers released their unofficial depth chart Tuesday. Wide receiver Sammy Watkins is not a Packers’ starting player on it. It appears he’s been demoted. Watkins is ahead of just one wide receiver, rookie Samori Toure.
The Packers just released their unofficial depth chart for Week 12 and Sammy Watkins is no longer listed as a starter. He’s dropped down to fifth on the depth chart, ahead of only Samori Toure.

Watkins could have better stats
Watkins has played in seven games for the Packers this season. He’s caught 13 passes for 206 yards and no touchdowns. The former first-round pick was placed on the injured reserve in late September, but he returned four weeks later. Watkins had one of his worst statistical seasons to date.
His current status on the depth chart needs to be a wake-up call for Watkins. Rookie wide receiver Christian Watson has started to pick up his game as the season progresses. Veteran Allen Lazard has been solid. Watkins has the seventh most receiving yards on the Packers’ offense this season. He’s currently on a one-year deal with the Packers. It doesn’t appear he’ll be re-signed for next season.
