During the 2021 season, Corbin Burnes set numerous franchise records. This helped carve his path to winning his very first Cy Young award. In 2022, he is again in the conversation for the Cy Young award. He also can make franchise history with one more double digit strikeout game.
This season, Corbin Burnes has recorded at least ten strikeouts on nine different occasions. This is tied for the most double digit strikeout games during a single season in Brewers franchise history. He is currently tied with Ben Sheets.
With 24 games remaining, Burnes should get at least four to five more opportunities to take sole possession of the franchise record for most double digit strikeout games in a season.

On September 8th, Burnes put together an impressive 14 strikeout performance against the Giants. That was his first double digit strikeout game since July 27th against Minnesota. He began the 2022 season with three out of his first five starts having strikeout totals of 10 or greater. It is possible that he could catch fire again and put some serious distance between himself and Sheets.
If this does happen, it may be a bit of a long shot for Burnes to set the record for the most total strikeouts in a single season in Brewers franchise history. Ben Sheets set that record in 2004 with 264 strikeouts. Burnes currently has 214.
Regardless of what happens, Burnes is putting together another solid season for the Brewers. He has been the ace of this team he is going to be relied heavily upon if the Brew Crew wants to make the post season for a fifth consecutive season.
