After a series win out on the east coast against the Phillies, the Brewers are returning home tonight for a one game showdown in Milwaukee against the Giants. The Brewers are entering play at 10-6 and the Giants 11-5. Both teams won their divisions in 2021 and and are off to good starts to begin the 2022 season.
April 25 was originally supposed to be an off day for the Brewers. However, when the start of the regular season was pushed back the Giants series was re-scheduled. Due to this, the Brewers now have to travel back to Milwaukee to play one game at home prior to heading back to the east coast for another series against the Pirates.
First pitch is set for 5:10 central time. Here is a quick look at each teams starting lineups.

Per the usual, Andrew McCutchen will continue to hit leadoff when facing left handed starting pitchers. Additionally Keston Hiura will continue to start at first base over Rowdy Tellez, Victor Caratini over Omar Narvaez, and Mike Brosseau over Jace Peterson. There is a slight deviation in the lineup tonight and that is that Kolton Wong is hitting ninth today.
For the Giants, they will be without Mike Yastrzemski. He was placed on the injured list earlier today. The Giants additionally will have five left handed batters in their lineup with power hitting Joc Pederson and Brandon Belt in the first and second spots.
The starting pitchers
On the mound for the Brewers tonight will be reigning Cy Young winner Corbin Burnes. Burnes has tossed 19 innings so far this year and currently has a 2.37 ERA. He has covered seven innings in each of his last two outings and struck out ten batters in his last start against the Pirates.
Sam Long, a left handed pitcher, will be on the bump for the Giants. This will be his second start of 2022, but he is not stretched out to cover a ton of innings. The Giants will have to use a lot of bullpen pitchers tonight. On the season he has pitched 4.2 innings and is yet to allow an earned run.
A one game series during the middle of the season is rather rare. Both teams are expected to compete for their divisions this year, so it should be a fun treat to watch tonight!
