With Aaron Rodgers coming back for possibly a long term contract, Jordan Love’s future is up in the air. Ian Rapoport’s announcement of a four year contract proved to be false. However a contract of that length is not out of the question. Jordan Love has two years left on his rookie contact as well as his 5th year option due to being a first round pick. These are the three teams who could use Jordan Love the most:
#3: Seattle Seahawks
With Seattle trading Russell Wilson to the Broncos and their #1 QB on the roster being Drew Lock, they are a perfect candidate for a QB of the future. They also received a truck load of draft picks for Wilson. Those picks could come in handy if they are trying to make additional trades. Pete Carroll is also a huge fan of a mobile QB, exactly what Jordan Love offers any team.
#2: Indianapolis Colts
The Colts seem to be missing only one or two things to take them to the next level. A long term competent QB is one of them. They have a strong offensive line. A very strong running game. And they are in a division that seems like only a two horse race every single year. If they see potential in Jordan Love as a long term solution, especially given this year’s weak QB draft class, they could pull the trigger.
#1: New Orleans Saints
The QB position for New Orleans has been in shambles since Drew Brees retired. Jameis Winston looked like a possible solution before he got hurt. However he missed most of last season and is now a free agent. On top of that Sean Payton retiring means this franchise may want to go in a new direction. If they don’t like the QBs in this years’ draft, trading for one might be the answer.
Realistically there are a handful of teams who could be in the running for Jordan Love if Green Bay starts taking trade offers. Love has been in the league two years now behind the best QB in the game. Knows the system. Has handled this whole situation with class. And is literally the same age as some of the QBs coming out in this years’ draft.
