NBA rumors: It’s a very interesting summer for the Minnesota Timberwolves. They’re coming off yet another first-round exit in the playoffs in spite of the fact that they went all-in on the Rudy Gobert trade heading into the season. That massive investment has not paid off for them just yet, which is probably why the front office is already considering trading away one of their biggest assets.
NBA Rumors: Timberwolves Have Named Price for Karl-Anthony Towns
At this point, would it be safe to say that the Rudy Gobert-Karl-Anthony Towns experiment is a failure? It would probably be premature to make such an unequivocal conclusion, but you have to say, the Timberwolves appear to be, at the very least, considering this harsh possibility.
Between the two, it seems like it’s Towns who’s getting the short end of the stick. According to Fred Katz of The Athletic, Minnesota has already named their price on their cornerstone big man. The thing is, the Wolves have reportedly slapped KAT with a “sky-high price,” which has turned off opposing teams who may have interest in the 27-year-old.
One team in particular that has been linked to a potential swoop for Towns is the New York Knicks. However, Katz reports that in spite of the rumors, New York has “not expressed any interest in trading” for the former Rookie of the Year.
NBA Rumors: Are Bucks in the Mix for Karl-Anthony Towns?
The Milwaukee Bucks could be a good landing spot for Karl-Anthony Towns. Giannis Antetokounmpo could potentially slide to the three spot in order to accommodate a frontcourt pairing between KAT and Brook Lopez. Now wouldn’t that be something?
The fact of the matter, however, is that the Bucks just don’t have enough assets to make a deal work — not to mention Towns’ $158 million contract. If the Knicks, who themselves have a more considerable war chest than the Bucks, have balked at Minnesota’s asking price for KAT, then Milwaukee likely won’t even have a chance to enter the conversation.

the wolves have been a laughing stock most of their entire history, but the situation they are in with KAnT is the dumbest position they have put themselves in yet. they built this monster and they are stuck overpaying the most overrated player in sports history. they have created an untradeable player. they held on too long overpaying him along the way and the only person league wide who finds him worth anything is him.
