If the Milwaukee Bucks are indeed set to lose Giannis Antetokounmpo this summer, you can be sure that they will require a major haul in a potential landscape-shifting blockbuster trade. The Bucks will want to remain competitive in the Eastern Conference, and they will only be able to do that if they get a superstar in return in a swap deal.
That star could be Paul George of the Los Angeles Clippers.
Milwaukee Bucks Trade Rumors: Giannis to Clippers in Exchange for Paul George
At this point, there are no rumors linking Giannis to the Los Angeles Clippers. However, if Antetokounmpo suddenly becomes available on the trade market, you can be sure that teams from around the league will be scrambling to make their bid for the former back-to-back MVP.
Eddie Bitar of Fadeaway World has conjured up an eye-catching trade scenario wherein the Bucks and the Clippers trade superstars.
Bucks get: Paul George (sign-and-trade), Terance Mann, 2031 First-Round Pick, 2030 Second-Round Pick
Clippers get: Giannis Antetokounmpo
Paul George is no Giannis, but he’s a bona fide NBA superstar. Alongside Damian Lillard, the Bucks will absolutely be a force to be reckoned with in the East:
“The Bucks will take George and place him alongside Lillard, Middleton, and Bobby Portis to keep them competitive in the East. The first-round pick and the presence of Mann would make the team better on both ends of the court when he comes in. Still, it is obvious that the Clippers will absolutely win this trade,” Bitar wrote.
As Bitar wrote, however, the Clippers will have much more to gain in this deal than Milwaukee. Giannis paired up with Kawhi Leonard is going to be pretty unstoppable. The only thing that can prevent this superstar duo from making LA a real title contender is their health. So long as they stay away from injuries, however, it’s hard not to see this squad as one of the favorites to go all the way next season.
