The ReliaQuest Bowl is still a few weeks away for Wisconsin Football. The Badgers will take on #13 LSU on New Years Day in Tampa. Kick-off is 11 AM CST. It’s unclear if Heisman Trophy winner Jayden Daniels will play in this game.
The Badgers have lost some players to the transfer portal over the last few weeks. This gives younger players the opportunity to get more reps and make a positive impression on coach Luke Fickell and the rest of the Wisconsin football staff. Here are three players I think have a chance to make a good impression in the bowl game.
C.J. Williams- Wisconsin Football Wide Receiever
Wisconsin football has their 1-2 wide receiver punch in Will Pauling and Bryson Green. However, Phil Longo would probably like a third receiver to step up. After Chimere Dike announced he was entering the transfer portal, I think this is great chance for C.J. Williams to solidify himself as the third receiver.
After being a five star recruit coming out of high school and transferring from USC, Williams had 15 catches for 148 yards in the regular season, He did not record a touchdown.
Williams has player comparisons to Keenan Allen. I think there is a lot of potential with Williams. He can be a number one wide receiver based on his ability and potential. This game is great chance for Williams to show off his skills and look like the top receiver I believe he can be.
Christian Alliegro- Wisconsin Football Linebacker
Christian Alliegro did not make an impact until later in the season, but he showed off speed, effort, and energy. At times, he was all over the field.
A game that sticks out to me was the Northwestern game. Wisconsin football looked horrible then entire game, but Alliegro was flying all over the field in the fourth quarter. It gave Wisconsin football fans some hope at that position going into next season. While Alliegro only recorded three tackles, the kid runs his tail off.
With the departure of Jordan Turner to the transfer portal and Maema Njongmeta likely headed to the NFL, Alliegro has a chance to take first team reps at inside linebacker with Jake Chaney. If that duo works, that could be the Wisconsin football starting inside linebackers in 2024.
Austin Brown- Wisconsin Football Safety
Austin Brown has all the physical tools to be a terrific player in Wisconsin's defense.

It’s unclear if Hunter Wohler will head to the NFL Draft. It does seem more and more likely Wohler will play in the bowl game. With Kamo’i Latu not much of a factor this season, Austin Brown has the chance to be a starting safety in 2024 and a good one at that.
Brown is a former four star recruit and a physical player. Like Alliegro, you will see Brown all over the field in the run game. He’s also a good pass defender. A game like this could do wonders for him going into the 2024 Wisconsin football season.
