Following a difficult 2023 season for the Wisconsin football team, the early betting futures suggest the 2024 season could be the same.

In the first future betting lines for the upcoming Big Ten Conference football season, the Wisconsin football team has received a disappointingly low win total for the year. After a seven win season this past year, the Badgers have only received a projected total of 6.5 despite plenty of additions. Wisconsin football will have to produce a much better product next year to prove the bettors wrong.

Wisconsin Football Expected to Win Seven Games Once Again During 2024 Season

In the initial win totals released by FanDuel Sportsbook, the Badgers have received a disappointing total after adding plenty of new talent. Wisconsin secured the 18th overall transfer class and the 25th overall 2024 recruiting class with 21 commitments. The Badgers’ staff will be the first ones to admit that this past season the team fell below expectations, but the 2024 season must be something different to avoid potentially serious changes.

Wisconsin is currently expected to win 6.5 games this upcoming season, which would put the Badgers into a similar position fans saw in 2023.

With New Additions to the Conference, Will the Wisconsin Badgers Football Team Win More or Less Games?

After the Pac-12 Conference effectively dispersed into a handful of conferences, the Big Ten grew by four as they accepted some of the top teams from the West Coast. Oregon, USC, Washington, and UCLA have all joined the conference for the 2024 season, and the foreseeable future. Not only has new competition arrived, but it is also potentially difficult competition.

The newcomers to the conference went a combined 42-13 last season as Washington made their way into the National Championship. While the programs were very successful last season, there has also been a large amount of turnovers among them which could hinder their success. Wisconsin football is set to face both USC and Oregon next season in their first year in the conference.

Wisconsin Football Maintains Positive ’24 Outlook Despite Another Staff Loss

Perhaps the biggest concern for Wisconsin football heading into next season is the current state of their staff. Wisconsin has lost a handful of staff members this off-season to other programs after the staffers were offered a more lucrative deal. The most recent Wisconsin football staff member to leave is key defensive line coach Greg Scruggs, who has reunited with Sherrone Moore at Michigan after previously serving on a staff together.
