The Wisconsin basketball staff hosted plenty of recruits in June for their advanced skills camps, but a particular 2025 recruit had some comments following his visit.
EJ Walker, a 2025 three-star recruit from Kentucky, has been a recruiting target for the Badgers for the past few months. Walker is one of the top power forwards in the 2025 class and could become a bigger target for Wisconsin down the line. Ohio State, Virginia Tech, Missouri, and Minnesota have all been in close contact with Walker as well.
Wisconsin Basketball Impresses Top 2025 Recruit With Excellent Visit
EJ Walker, a three-star recruit from Kentucky, spent a bit time in Madison this past month. Walker was invited to campus where he competed against other top recruits in the 2025 class during his visit.
The Wisconsin basketball staff offered Walker a scholarship in May, long before the recruit had received a ranking. Now, Walker is ranked as the second overall recruit in the state of Kentucky for the 2025 class. Walker is also ranked as the 21st power forward and the 109th recruit overall.
Standing in at 6-foot-8-inches, Walker has elite size and excellent ball-handling skills on the court. The big man is tough to shutdown due to his variety of scoring methods and exceptional length. During his time at the Wisconsin basketball camp, Walker put his skills on display as he scored over plenty of other recruits. The forward is also a better defender than most give him credit for. His speed and size make it difficult for opponents to slip past him in transition.
The Wisconsin basketball staff has loved recruiting Walker thus far, but how has Walker responded?
EJ Walker, Wisconsin Badgers Basketball Staff Developing Close Relationship
Throughout his recruitment thus far, Walker has spent the most amount of time with the Wisconsin basketball staff. Following his visit, the recruit stated that he “enjoyed” his time on campus and the experience of meeting the staff in Madison.
Currently, Walker holds 20 scholarship offers and continues to receive more during his Summer showcases. Missouri, Ohio State, and Virginia Tech all offered Walker a scholarship following a showcase last month.
The Wisconsin basketball staff impressed Walker, but they will need to do plenty more to lend the recruit.
