The Wisconsin Badgers will be busy on the transfer portal this offseason and another player to watch for is William Kyle III. He played for the South Dakota State Jackrabbits this past season. They were in the NCAA Tournament as a 15th seed before they lost to the 2 Iowa State Cyclones in the first round.
In the NCAA Tournament against the Iowa State Cyclones, he scored 14 points, grabbed seven rebounds, and recorded four assists. Kyle III also helped the Jackrabbits win the Summit League Tournament this past season in college basketball.
Kyle III was a high school teammate with Badgers player Chucky Hepburn. He only was a sophomore this past season for the Jackrabbits and will have two more years left of eligibility. He is 6’9″ and weighs 230 lbs and could very well be a Tyler Wahl replacement for next season.
William Kyle III last season with the South Dakota State Jackrabbits averaged 13.1 PPG, 6.6 RPG, 1.7 APG, 1.6 BPG, and 0.3 SPG. He also shot 62.3% from the field, which was ranked 12th in the country from a season ago.
It Would Be a Good Thing For the Wisconsin Badgers To Have William Kyle III Reunite With Chucky Hepburn
The Badgers would improve in the front court if they were able to land Kyle III from the Jackrabbits and have him reunite with Chucky Hepburn. Hepburn will be a senior next year, but William Kyle III will only be a junior. Kyle III would be able to replace Tyler Wahl’s scoring on the roster, who averaged 10.6 PPG this past season.
Wahl averaged 5.6 rebounds per game last season, which was less than what William Kyle III averaged. The Wisconsin Badgers could be a solid team next season once again in the BIG10 conference if head coach Greg Gard was able to lure him from South Dakota State.
Noah Reynolds from the Green Bay Phoenix is another name to watch for on the portal for the Badgers. If they were able to land both Kyle III and Reynolds for next season, those would be the replacements for Tyler Wahl and Connor Essegian and the team would be deeper than they were a season ago.
