The Wisconsin Badgers are coming off a season that left much to be desired. After entering the season with outside expectations to compete for a Big Ten Championship, the Badgers finished 7-5 and just third in the Big Ten West. The Luke Fickell era got off to a rocky start, however, he did manage to qualify for a Bowl Game and took the Axe back from the Minnesota Gophers. Two wins this season for sure.
Heading into the 2024 season, expectations will remain high. Today, they landed a defensive commitment that will surely help with that.
The Wisconsin Badgers Land Outside Linebacker Leon Lowery

According to The Journal Times:
A transfer linebacker once again set his sights on joining the University of Wisconsin football team.
Leon Lowery Jr. announced Thursday that he has re-committed to the Badgers.
“These last 48 hours have been a whirlwind,” Lowery wrote in a social media message. “After thinking long & hard about my future it became clear to me what was really important. I’ve had great discussions with my coaches and family… there’s not a better fit for me & my future than in Madison, Wisconsin! I’m shutting down my recruitment & will not take any more visits. I’m a Badger! On, Wisconsin.”
The New Jersey native initially announced his commitment to Wisconsin on Sunday, but he reopened his transfer recruiting process less than 24 hours later.
Lowery on Monday directed questions regarding his recruitment to Chris Wash and Darren Wilson, who he identified as his agents in a since-deleted tweet. Wash said when reached Thursday he never represented Lowery, directly contradicting what he told BadgerExtra on Monday, but said Wilson did represent Lowery. Wilson declined to say whether he represented Lowery during a phone conversation Thursday.
How Does This Commitment Impact The Badgers?

In his sophomore season, the 6-foot-4, 239-pound linebacker recorded 46 tackles, 7.5 tackles-for-loss, and 3.5 sacks, which makes him an appealing prospect for programs all over the country.
Lowery had interest from multiple Universities across the nation, but stuck with his decision to be a Badger. Wisconsin has continuously churned out high quality linebackers over the years, there is no reason that Lowery won’t be any different.
