Landyn Locke, the brother of Badgers transfer quarterback Braedyn Locke, has received a scholarship from Wisconsin. The rising Junior quarterback from Rockwall, Texas now has his fourth scholarship offer after receiving one from the Badgers. Wisconsin joins Southern Methodist University, Tulsa, and Western Kentucky in the recruitment of the young prospect.
Wisconsin Badgers Football Offers Landyn Locke, Brother Of Braedyn Locke
The Wisconsin Badgers offensive coordinator Phil Longo stated months back after acquiring Braedyn Locke that the quarterback was “…exactly the mold we are looking for.” Clearly, Longo meant what he said after reaching out to Landyn Locke with a scholarship offer. The younger brother of the Mississippi State Bulldogs transfer comes in at 6-foot-3-inches, 180-pounds with an ability to throw on the run as well.
During this past season, Locke recorded 1823 yards, 31 touchdowns, and four interceptions in eight games as the starting quarterback. Locke also recorded a 61% completion rate last year as the team went 10-0 and won their district as well. Locke is a versatile, strong-armed quarterback with the ability to throw down the field off either foot. The quarterback is also a feared rushing threat on option plays especially, with multiple rushing touchdowns resulting from those plays.
The dynamic quarterback is comfortable with waiting for plays to develop as he creates more time with his legs. The mobility that Locke has is one of his top abilities at the position. Locke can move and shift on a dime to get away from bigger defenders and get off difficult throws. This past season Locke had the advantage of having a durable offensive line, but it should be interesting to see the recruit play against tougher competition. Currently, Locke is still not ranked in the 2025 recruiting class and likely will not make an appearance barring a breakout season next year.

Landyn Locke is an excellent, knowledgeable quarterback, but still needs to improve his game overall to contend for a starting collegiate job. The talented recruit still has two years left in high school before having to make the jump to the next level. With the right tools and training, Locke can be guided into a top quarterback in the class given his current skill set.

While Locke may have a great connection with the Badgers already, that does not mean he is the perfect fit. The quarterback certainly fits the physical mold that Phil Longo is looking for, but still must refine his skills over the next two years. If Locke continues to develop as a passer especially, he could certainly battle for playing time in college. The talented quarterback is also fairly new to the recruiting process, with more offers likely coming in during the next few months.
The Badgers love adding to their quarterback room, as fans have seen this past recruiting cycle. Longo has added four total quarterbacks to the Badgers program, with another recruit possibly landing with the team in the future. Locke already has a great connection with the team due to his brother, which may factor into his decision.
