Ask any Green Bay Packers fan about the biggest problem their team has at the moment, and most of them will answer Jordan Love’s injury. The young quarterback hasn’t been able to perform to his expected standards due to his injury.
While the team has been taking their time to help their star signal caller recover, his time off the team will make him rusty against the Minnesota Vikings if he is ready to play against their NFC North rivals on Sunday.
While Packers fans will be glad that they have Malik Willis ready to step up as the backup, many would rather have Love be under center against a division rival. Fortunately for fans, his return to the field may come sooner than later.
Jordan Love feels confident about his condition as the Green Bay Packers prepare for the Minnesota Vikings
Field Level Media published a piece that talked about Love’s update about his condition as the Packers prepare to square off against the Vikings on Sunday:
“I’m trying to push it and I’ve been trying to get back as fast as I can no matter who the opponent was,” Love said.
Love said he felt like he was “close” to being ready last week at Tennessee. Instead, Malik Willis navigated the Packers to a second consecutive win.
Since Willis proved himself to be good enough to cover for Love over the past two weeks, it makes sense for Matt LaFleur and the rest of the Packers coaching staff to ensure their QB1’s condition before they even dare to place him back on the starting lineup.
Love would be eager to build on a successful season as the team’s QB1. He finished the 2023 campaign with 4159 passing yards, 32 passing touchdowns. He was also an effective scrambler, rushing for 247 yards and four TDs.
If Love does manage to be fit enough to play, the Green Bay Packers, the team will have to deal with rustiness that comes with not playing for two weeks. The fans will hope that the defense can contain Sam Darnold if Love’s not as sharp as they want him to be.
