Wisconsin Badgers starting linebacker Jordan Turner has entered the transfer portal according to Matt Zenitz and Chris Hummer of 247sports. Turner was a former All-Big Ten honorable mention and over the course of the last two seasons for Wisconsin, he has recorded a total of 129 tackles and five sacks.
Turner this season for the Badgers recorded 61 total tackles, three sacks, one forced fumble, and two pass deflections. Turner just finished his junior season with Wisconsin and it is going to be interesting to see which college football programs will go after him.
He was a starter for the team at the linebacker position for the last two years and the Badgers are going to need to fill that void. This is a big-time loss for Luke Fickell’s staff as the transfer portal will be crazy at this time of the year. Junior Jake Chaney will start in his place when Wisconsin faces the LSU Tigers in the ReliaQuest Bowl on New Year’s Day.
Chaney has recorded 73 tackles this season for the Badgers. They will need help at linebacker heading into next season with the departure of Jordan Turner.
Former Wisconsin Badgers Linebacker Jordan Turner Is From the Michigan Area
It is interesting that Turner has entered his name into the transfer portal. It is unknown at this time who will take a look at him, but he is from Farmington, Michigan. Jordan Turner is 6’1″ and weighs 238 lbs. With him being from the state of Michigan, would it be possible for him if he decides to play for Jim Harbaugh and the Michigan Wolverines next season or the Michigan State Spartans?
There seems to be uncertainty with both of those football programs. Michigan is the top-ranked team in the country but there have been NFL rumors involving head coach Jim Harbaugh. The Michigan State Spartans are still looking for a new head coach.
It would be interesting to see if Jordan Turner stayed in the BIG10 Conference after deciding to put his name into the transfer portal on Wednesday. The Badgers will be missing a very good football player in 2024.
