Wisconsin Badgers junior guard Connor Essegian is one of the rising stars in the Big Ten. The Fort Wayne, Indiana native has also embraced Madison, Wisconsin as his home and is using his influence as a Badgers basketball star to make a difference in the community.

One of the ways he has done this is by hosting a three-on-three basketball tournament in Middleton, Wisconsin. Fans ages sixth grade through college can register a team to participate in the multi-level tournament with all proceeds going to the Derek Gray Memorial Foundation and Scholarship Fund.

Badger Nation need all y’all to help get this out! CE3v3 even has a college level division. UW and local schools need to pop out! Scan the code to sign up or hit the link asap!https://t.co/IfbIRiTfXz pic.twitter.com/KGYrWIpJRP

How Can Wisconsin Badgers Fans Register for Connor Essegian’s Basketball Tournament?

Badgers and basketball fans can register for Essegian’s basketball tournament by visiting this link.

The event is scheduled to take place on October 1, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Middleton High School.

The Derek Gray Memorial Foundation and Scholarship Fund was formed in honor of Derek Gray, a UW-Whitewater basketball player and Madison, Wisconsin native who died suddenly last year.

Gray was working with children at a youth basketball camp when he collapsed. He had a blood clot in his heart and died. Gray had turned 20 years old just five days prior to his death.

The Derek Gray Memorial Foundation and Scholarship Fund has been set up to continue the work that Gray was so passionate about: giving back to children in his community.

In addition to a basketball tournament, Essegian’s event will also focus on cardiac health awareness among athletes and community health advocacy for African American men.

Essegian has partnered with BrandTek to make the tournament possible.
