The Badgers football program has been busy the last couple of weeks. Spring practice has kicked off and potential recruits have been on campus to take in the action. I want to go over who has been on campus and go into some detail about them as players. I’ll be focusing on players that haven’t been covered in the weekly offer recaps.
Offensive Line
Donovan Harbour – 4 Star
Donovan is a local kid that has Wisconsin listed in his top 7 schools which also includes Penn State, Tennessee, Ohio State, Florida, Oregon and Michigan. He currently plays football about an hour away from Madison so he’s likely familiar with the town, but getting him on campus to see the new offense and meet potential teammates is huge.
Ben Roebuck – 4 Star
Ben is a 6’7″, 320 offensive lineman from Ohio. Not only does he have the size to make an impact at the next level, but he has the athleticism needed to keep up with what is shaping up to be a more fast paced offense. Being athletic and physical is exactly what this team needs moving forward.
Nathan Roy – 4 Star
Nathan is another local kid that has Wisconsin in his top 7. He also has Ohio State, Tennessee, Michigan State, Minnesota, UCLA and USC on that list. Keeping the home grown talent in state is huge but the fact he can play offensive or defensive line is ideal. Wisconsin has historically adjusted positions based on need and projectability which makes his experience with both that much more important.
Derek Jensen – 4 Star
Derek committed to the Badgers on Sunday after being in Madison recently. A rundown on him as a player can be found here.
Styles Prescod – 3 Star
Styles is a 6’6″, 265 lineman out of Indiana. He doesn’t have the weight of some of the offensive lineman above him but has the agility and speed. The Badgers are likely interested in his projectability from an athletic standpoint. He has some big offers including Alabama, Notre Dame and Penn State so getting him on campus was key.
Colin Cubberly – 3 Star
I covered Colin a couple of weeks ago so it’s a bonus the New York native was able to visit campus. For a deeper breakdown on him, check it out here.
Michael Roeske – Unranked
Michael is another Wisconsin native that was on campus over the weekend. He plays offensive tackle and defensive end at the moment. His tape makes me think he’ll be on the defensive side of the ball in college. He has the size and strength to cause problems on defense. With that being said, it’s not uncommon for high school kids to have the ideal size for offensive line play and just need some polish.
Defensive Line
Marquise Lightfoot – 4 Star
Marquise was on campus after the Badgers offered him a few months ago. The Illinois native is a huge target for the Badgers and a more in-depth run down on him can be found here.
Jaylen Williams – 4 Star
Jaylen is yet another Illinois native in the 2025 class. He’s only a sophomore but is already 6’6″ and 280 pounds. His tape is impressive as he does more than just dominate with his size. He lines up on the edge but could easily anchor in the middle if needed. He uses his hands well to keep blockers away from his body and does a good job of knocking passes down. It’ll be interesting to see how he matures and where he ends up on defense at the next level.
Kellen Lindstrom – 3 Star
Kellen is listed as a defensive end/ tight end but his film makes it easy to picture him causing problems on defense in Madison. He has a lot of speed and agility which is huge as he’d need to put on some weight in order to play on the defensive line in the B1G. If he could get to the 260 pound range without losing much speed, he could become an impact pass rusher for the Badgers.
Linebackers
Kari Jackson – 4 Star
Kari is a dynamic inside linebacker out of Michigan. The 6’2″, 220 pound athlete has impressive tape as he does a lot very well. Most prospects in high school that are the best defenders on their team have highlights of interceptions and sacks. Kari has film showing a smart, athletic and versatile defender. He plugs holes well on runs, is quick to his assignment in coverage and has the speed to rush the passer. He looks like an ideal middle linebacker to target and getting him on campus is huge.
Cooper Catalano – 3 Star
Cooper is the first of two in state linebackers that were on campus recently. He is only a sophomore yet wracked up 146 tackles with 17 of them being for a loss. We also can’t overlook 2 sacks, 3 forced fumbles and 2 picks. This kid can truly do it all from the middle linebacker position. He’s a very good tackler and does everything you want from your defensive field general. His film shows a smart and strong linebacker that can drop into coverage and has the speed to make plays.
Landon Gathier – 3 Star
I covered Landon after he got his offer a couple months ago but his breakdown can be found here. He’s the type of player the Badgers have consistently developed into a major college contributor.
Thomas Heiberger – 3 Star
The South Dakota native is the potential outside linebacker from the group as his film shows a pure pass rusher. He has the speed and bend to make an impact at the college level and could be a college weight program away from doing it quickly. Wisconsin appears to be his biggest offer to this point.
Huston Eubanks – 3 Star
The 3 star outside linebacker from Michigan will be in Madison this week. The 6’2″, 215 pound pass rusher looks good on film as he has impressive speed and strength to pressure the quarterback while also providing a major boost to the run defense.
Secondary
Jaiden Spearman – 3 Star
Jaiden is a 6’2″, 195 defensive back prospect out of North Carolina. He has a long list of offers including Harvard and Penn. Even though those schools aren’t known for their football, they are great academic institutes which shows how smart of a kid he is. On the field he’s a long and rangy safety that can cover a lot of ground.
Desmond Straughton- 3 Star
Desmond is a safety out of Michigan that plays bigger than he is. His tape is fun to watch as he delivers some impressive hits and does a great job and reading and reacting to the movement by the offense. He will be on campus this week.
Cam Richardson – 3 Star
I’ve covered the 2024 defensive back before which can be found here. He was in Madison over the weekend.
Wide Receiver
Eric Slater – 3 Star
Eric is a 6’2″, 190 pound receiver out of Michigan. The sophomore has impressive highlights as he gets behind the defense with ease. He comes down with virtually every contested ball and sheds tackles in the open field. He’s not solely a deep threat as he does a good job of getting open for first downs along with being a good blocker. He’ll also be on campus this week.
Tight End
James Flanigan – Unranked
I covered James a few months back after he received an offer from Wisconsin. You can read more about him here and check out his film!
Running Back
Dominik Ball – 3 Star
Dominik is an Illinois native that continues the trend for many Badger running back targets. The track and field star is a bit undersized (5’9″) but has great speed and contact balance. His tape shows a player that can take virtually any touch to the house while optimizing any space he’s given. He’s extremely strong for his size and has the ability to catch the ball as well.
Athlete
Jaimier Scott – 3 Star
Jaimier was in Madison over the weekend and has spoken highly about his relationship with the Badger coaches. The highly regarded athlete plays offense and defense currently but looks like he may fit better in the secondary at the next level. He’s always around the ball and reacts very well to what he sees in front of him.
Javier Ethridge – 3 Star
Javier was in Madison over the weekend and reportedly had a great time. He plays cornerback and receiver in high school and looks extremely comfortable at both. His film shows an instinctive and willing tackler on defense and a quick pass catcher with good body control on offense. He’s on the smaller side (5’11” and 155 pounds) so the secondary may be his best option at the next level.
We’ll see a lot more kids on campus as spring practice goes along and I apologize if I missed anyone. As we go through spring practices, I’ll be updating this to the best of my ability with players that are visiting campus!
