With the announcement of the 2021 NFL All-Pro team – the best player at each position in the entire NFL, not just each conference – the Green Bay Packers had three All-Pros. They were all placed on the 1st Team. That tied the league lead with four other teams: Indianapolis, Baltimore, Los Angeles Rams, and Dallas.
Both the Colts and Ravens had special teamers earn spots. While not minimizing it, the preferred positions to produce on a football team comes from the conventional offense and defense. The Packers arguably should have led the NFL with four 1st Team All-Pros (possibly five). While no one would question the selections of Aaron Rodgers, Davante Adams, and De’Vondre Campbell – the best free agent signing across the league in years – Packers fans should pick a bone with the cornerback selections. Let’s take a look, shall we?

With the NFL selecting two cornerbacks for 1st Team NFL All-Pro, the selection of Trevon Diggs should’ve been unanimous. While Diggs gives up a ton of yards, he’s also made opposing QBs pay with a league leading 11 interceptions, taking two of those back to the house.
However, the beef should come from the selection of Jalen Ramsey, which appears to be on namesake alone. Ramsey is no slouch, but we’re talking about top two corners in the NFL, and Rasul Douglas is more-deserving than the Rams’ defensive back in essentially every category. Other than passes defended, when broken down in a per game scenario, Rasul is far and above in every statistical category. Couple that with Douglas icing games against the Arizona Cardinals (5th seed) and Ramsey’s Rams (4th seed), it shouldn’t even be a question.

Maybe Douglas adds this to his ever-growing bucket of motivation and becomes a hero for the Packers and their fans this postseason? Many consider it a slap in the face that with all of his impressive performances and statistics, he wasn’t even voted to the 2nd Team…
