The Green Bay Packers suffered one of their worst losses in recent memory. Many are calling it the worst loss of Aaron Rodgers’ career. Following their 15-9 loss to the Lions, Green Bay may be looking toward the 2023 NFL draft. Not necessarily a playoff seeding. One of the biggest concerns of the 2022 NFL season so far is how little the Packers have run the ball. Many are saying the play-calling is to blame. Former Packers’ OL T.J. Lang identified a play in which Elgton Jenkins became visibly upset with a play call vs Detroit.
Elgton Jenkins Becomes Visibly Upset With Play Call By Aaron Rodgers
While on the Detroit Lions’ one-yard line, Green Bay decides to throw the ball. Packers OL Elgton Jenkins clearly did not like that call. T.J. Lang posted this video with the caption “74 was was not happy this ball wasn’t handed off.”

TJ. Lang later made it clear that this play was ORIGINALLY a run play:
This play and the first interception were both run calls

In the video you can see Jenkins visibly frustrated after the play is over. It appeared like A.J. Dillon would have pranced into the end zone with no problems on this play. However, Aaron Rodgers and Sammy Watkins weren’t on the same page and it results in an incompletion. So far in 2022 Aaron Jones and A.J. Dillon are averaging just 22.9 carries per game COMBINED. That is a far cry from the 40-50 per game many fans expected to see them get going into the season.
With Green Bay’s major overhaul at wide receiver, it was widely assumed Aaron Jones and A.J. Dillon would be the vocal point of this offense. Aaron Jones is still averaging 5.6 yards per carry this season, A.J. Dillon is at 3.97. If Green Bay wants any shot of saving their season it has to start with 33 and 28 getting the ball A LOT MORE. Aaron Rodgers has to be on board with that as well.
