The Green Bay Packers released two players Wednesday, including a running back, ahead of their Week 1 game against the Chicago Bears. The Packers are set at RB1 and RB2 with Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon. However, the team has shown interest in potentially trading for Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor.

The Packers gave the RB3 job to rookie Emmanuel Wilson after a strong preseason campaign. According to Aaron Wilson with KPRC, the Packers cut running back Tyler Goodson and long snapper Broughton Hatcher.

Goodson, a UDFA from Iowa, might have given Wilson a run for his money at the RB3 position this season after his strong debut in the Packers’ training camp and first preseason game against the Cincinnati Bengals. Goodson scored a touchdown in the game. Unfortunately, he also sustained a shoulder injury in the contest and was placed on injured reserve.
