The NFL finished releasing their annual NFL Top 100 list. This list is voted on by the players and is always a fun discussion between fan bases. For college football teams it is always a point of pride when players from their university make it into one of these lists. The Wisconsin Badgers had a good showing this year. Two Wisconsin Badgers made the top 10 in the NFL Top 100 list.
No. 6 TJ Watt
TJ Watt is coming off a historic 2022 season. He tied Michael Strahan‘s season sack record with 22.5 sacks. The obvious gut reaction to this is that the season is now 17 games and Watt had an easier time reaching the record. Stunningly, Watt actually had this many sacks in less games as he only played in 15 last season. He also forced a whopping 5 fumbles and recovered 3. He was a constant nuisance in the backfield tallying 52 QB pressures. Watt is primed for another big year in 2022 and is one of the Wisconsin Badgers to make the NFL Top 100 list.
No. 5 Jonathan Taylor
The Badgers have always cranked out talent at the running back position. Jonathan Taylor is the latest Wisconsin running back to have NFL success. He led the NFL in rushing in 2021 rushing for just over 1800 yards. He found the end zone 20 times last season through rushing and receiving. It is no surprise that Taylor could amass this amount of yards when you look at his Wisconsin stats. He rushed for over 2000 yards in both his sophomore and junior year and just missed his freshman year. It is great to see a Wisconsin Badgers running back in the NFL Top 100 list.
A point of pride for any program is building viable NFL talent. The Wisconsin Badgers have consistently been able to send high level players to the NFL. Watt and Taylor are just the latest to be highly regarded by their peers. It was great to see two Wisconsin Badgers in the top 10 of the NFL Top 100 list.
