Who Might the Milwaukee Bucks Look to Add?
First off, the Milwaukee Bucks do not have a ton of valuable trade assets to be able to make a big move. More and more it looks like fan favorite Bobby Portis might be on the table. Any “big” Bucks trade appears to require him.
Should the Milwaukee Bucks trade Portis for Grant Williams, a similar power forward in Dallas? Could Milwaukee get Dallas to throw in a first-round pick as well, and then flip that pick and a player for a good defensive perimeter player?
Jake Fischer of Yahoo! Sports reported the potential deal two days ago.
Second, give the Bucks and GM Jon Horst credit: they are more than all-in.
This team is willing to do just about anything to chase an NBA Championship right now. That is pretty cool, and pretty unique, for a Milwaukee sports franchise.
Finally, don’t give up on early Bucks trade rumors. Alex Caruso? PJ Tucker? Who knows where the night will take us?
Milwaukee Bucks Trade Targets
As the season wears on for the Chicago Bulls, guard Alex Caruso looks like a better and better fit in Milwaukee. That is as the trade makes more and more sense for Milwaukee as the season grinds on: they’ll continue to need to give up less and less to acquire him. Giving up MarJon and Bobby really does not make a ton of sense for the Bucks here. But if that asking price continues to creep lower and lower…
We’ve talked about adding him here a lot in this space. Here are two pieces (linked in) from other Wi Sports Heroics Writers on a pending move.
Adding Dennis Smith Jr., Brooklyn Nets
The defensive minded point guard would be an interesting player to add. As a player who can guard the point guard position up to the small forward position, Smith Jr. draws comparison to Derrick Rose and even Jevon Carter on defense.
What would it take to get him? Maybe an AJ Green and a 2024 second round pick? This would be a good Bucks trade.
Smith Jr. has a very workable contract (2.1 million this year) and again, like the Chicago Bulls, as the season wears on the Brooklyn Nets might want to make moves for future draft capital. He is a very “movable” guy. He certainly would add bench depth and defense.
Adding Andrew Wiggins
Jake Fischer of Yahoo! Sports reported the potential deal today. It appears Milwaukee might be in on Wiggins. It would take a lot to acquire him. But still, he could be a nice add. To get Wiggins, Milwaukee would have to give up Portis for sure. Rumors abound that Warriors coach Steve Kerr is a fan. This would be a “huge” Bucks trade.
A Jevon Carter Reunion?
Lost in the Alex Caruso rumors are the potential for a possible Jevon Carter reunion. Carter has simply not played all that well in Chicago. Would Milwaukee be willing to give up a 2029 second round pick to try to reacquire him?
If Milwaukee would have an interest in acquiring Dennis Smith Jr who is comparable to Jevon Carter, why not just go out and get Carter?
Maybe this happens. Again as the Bulls season continues to grind on, the asking price for their players goes down and down.
A PJ Tucker Reunion?
Speaking of reunions, what about PJ “My Dawg” Tucker reunion? Tucker is a potential buyout candidate for the Bucks. How cool would it be to add his defensive presence to this team?
Windhorst on the Milwaukee Bucks:
"I was talking to a team just last night where they have been talking with Milwaukee and they were like 'They must have dozens of trade scenarios they have been pitching. Trying three-way deals, all kinds of stuff.’ pic.twitter.com/xScwraCbZV

Up Next for the Milwaukee Bucks
The (33-18) Milwaukee Bucks take on the (35-16) Minnesota Timberwolves Thursday Night at home. The Bucks are 1-4 under new Head Coach Doc Rivers but they have had a brutal schedule.
Of course all of the possible “adds” and rumors may end up just being that: rumors. Going back to the start of our article, Milwaukee simply might not have enough trade chips (draft picks) to swing a deal.
