Make it two in a row and three of four for the Milwaukee Bucks. They rode hot shooting and timely defense to a 124-115 victory over the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday night. The win also made former Bucks head coach Jason Kidd 1-2 against his former team since being fired in January of 2018. There were truly many good performances by the Bucks tonight, making it difficult to pinpoint three studs worthy of notoriety. Therefore, let’s begin by pointing out that Brook Lopez once again had a stellar night defensively. He had four more blocks and a steal to go with 13 points, four rebounds, and two assists. Jrue Holiday also had a solid night, scoring 16 points to go with six assists and three steals. Jevon Carter added 14 points, six assists, and a steal.
Three Studs
Having highlighted the above solid performances, here are the studs from tonight’s win.
Giannis Antetokounmpo
Not surprisingly, Giannis Antetokounmpo put on another MVP performance against the Dallas Mavericks. In a matchup that pitted him against Luca Doncic, Giannis came out on top. Giannis scored 30 points while grabbing 11 rebounds. He also added four assists and a steal. The two-time MVP has now scored 30+ points in four straight games.
Perhaps most notably, Giannis was 8-10 from the free throw line. After going through an absolutely abysmal stretch of free throw shooting, he is starting to become more consistent at the line.
Giannis continues his tear.

Grayson Allen
The Bucks’ second-leading scorer on the night was Grayson Allen, who torched the Mavericks with a hot shooting hand. By the time the first half ended, Allen was 7/7 from three and had 22 points. He finished the game 8/10 from the floor (7/8 from three) with 25 points. Allen also had five assists, two steals, and a block to complete his night.
Grayson shot 7-7 from 3-pt range in the 1st half which is tied for the most 3-pointers made in a half without a miss over the last 25 seasons.

Bobby Portis
There are two players that are tied for second in the NBA with 11 double-doubles this season. One is Giannis Antetokounmpo. The other is Bobby Portis. The Bucks’ sixth man had 15 points and 10 rebounds against the Mavericks in a game that saw him get more minutes than usual. Brook Lopez was whistled for two early fouls and Giannis himself was in a bit of foul trouble.
Three Duds
The Bucks were in control of the game for its entirety. As such, there were not any glaring weak performances. So for tonight, there will be no duds.
