The Green Bay Packers won their first game in 42 days last Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys. As much of a damper the season has been, the Packers are still very much in the thick of things. It may not be much, but there is still a chance. This week Green Bay welcomes the Tennessee Titans at home on short rest. The elements are going play in Green Bay’s favor as the forecast calls for below freezing temperatures at kickoff and during the game. Can the Packers stay red-hot on the frozen tundra and win their second game in a row? Let’s take a look at three things we can expect tomorrow evening:
Aaron Jones and AJ Dillion Combine for 200 Rushing Yards
The key for Green Bay to win tomorrow night is going to be ground and pound football. The cold temperatures are not ideal for the passing game, so I expect a heavy dose of Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon. Dillon is no stranger to the elements against the Titans. Back in 2020, the third year running back ran for 124 yards and two touchdowns in his first active game with the Packers. I am sure that Mike Vrabel, Tennessee Titans head coach, has not forgotten this and will be better prepared. AJ Dillon is also due for big game as he has not been much of a factor in the offense this season. If Matt Lafleur can focus his game plan on the running back duo, I think the Packers will be in good shape to come out with a win tomorrow night.
Green Bay’s Defense Forces Three Turnovers Off Malik Willis
No matter what Green Bay’s record is, Lambeau Field is a very tough to place to play, let alone, win. Malik Willis will have himself a challenge come tomorrow night. Over the past few weeks, Joe Barry and the defense has improved, but still are not where they should be. Make no mistake, Derrick Henry will get his yards. I do not think that the defense can keep him under 100 yards rushing as they did in 2020. What is going to be important is making Malik Willis as uncomfortable as they can. If Green Bay can win the turnover battle, they should be able to take care of business along with running the football. I think the defense puts up arguably their best performance and get after Willis early and often.
Green Bay Gets Their Second Straight Win
I do believe that Green Bay’s win last Sunday is exactly what this team needed to get back on track. It is easy to fold at this point in the season and look at what you can do next season. However, with Aaron Rodgers behind center, Green Bay always has a chance to win. The Tennessee Titans will be another quality opponent on a difficult Packers’ schedule. Aaron Rodgers made it very clear that this team is not out and very capable at making a postseason run. Despite all the criticism and negativity surrounding him, it is time to rally around Rodgers and take his word seriously. I do think the Packers will do just that and come out on top against the Tennessee Titans on an extremely cold and pivotal Thursday night matchup.
