Brian Baumgartner isn’t worried about the Packers yet
The Green Bay Packers didn’t give their fanbase much to work with during their Week 1 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. The team was inept on both sides of the ball. Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson had his way against the Packers’ secondary. The Packers’ offense didn’t have rhythm. The performance wasn’t enough to dissuade “The Office” actor Brian Baumgartner, who played Kevin Malone, from thinking the Packers will be alright this season.
Baumgartner, a Packers fan, went on Good Morning Football this week. The comedic actor had a strong message for the national media who wanted to blast this year’s team after Week 1. Baumgartner stressed there was much overreaction from Week 1. Baumgartner appeared animated as he excitedly and hilariously explained all the Packers’ difficulties the team had to deal with against the Vikings due to multiple injuries.

The Green Bay Packers have a test this weekend against the Bears
Baumgartner is waiting to see the results this weekend before passing on judgment. That would probably be a good idea. The Packers’ offense needs to gel with their young wide receivers group. They also need to get their starters back on the field before anyone knows what this group can do. Once their offensive tackles David Bakhtiari and Elgton Jenkins are back, the offensive line should give Aaron Rodgers more time. When he has time, he can hit his number one receiver, Allen Lazard.
The Packers benefit this week from playing the Chicago Bears in Week 2. The Bears are a team ESPN’s Keyshawn Johnson has said is pretty much devoid of starting talent. The Packers come into the game -9.5 point favorites. Monday morning should have the Packers feeling better about the 2022 season. Well, that depends on how much you follow cornerback Jaire Alexander’s advice.
