Shohei Ohtani is the talk of all MLB trade rumors right now. The two-way player is having a career year both at the plate and on the mound. With the Los Angeles Angels falling out of playoff contention and their superstar in the final year of contract, he somehow continues to increase his trade value by putting together epic performances and monster stat lines that have him on pace to make history.

MLB Trade Rumors: Los Angeles Angels superstar Shohei Ohtani continues to increase his trade value.
Against the New York Yankees last night Shohei Ohtani launched his 35th home run of the season. This one tied the game in the seventh inning. Over his last 28 games he has 12 home runs coming in the seventh inning or later.
All together his season stats include: 35 home runs, 75 RBI, 1.068 OPS. If he continues on this home run pace he will hit 60 this season. A season ago Aaron Judge set the AL record with 62 long balls and then inked a nine year, $360 million deal. Being a two-way player, Ohtani’s future deal may be in the $500-600 million range.
Despite any trading team only being able to acquire Ohtani for a few months, his trade value is continuing to ascend. The starting point for any discussion was rumored to be multiple top 100 prospects. At this point it’s hard to imagine him being traded for prospects and any potential deal is going to have to involve a lot of valuable pieces.
