The San Francisco 49ers Took Wild Approach To Get Ready For Green Bay Packers Matchup (Report)

The San Francisco 49ers and Green Bay Packers will once again meet in the playoffs.  These two franchises have a long history of squaring off in the post-season.  The two teams have played nine times in the postseason, with the 49ers leading the series 5–4.  The Packers lead the all-time series 38-33-1.

This matchup will feature two young quarterbacks who are looking to make a name for themselves within two historic franchises.  That being said, the 49ers took a unique approach to prepare for the Packers on Saturday.

The San Francisco 49ers Take Different Approach To Prepare For the Green Bay Packers

According to the 33rd Team, 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan started preparing for the Packers

“We started really focusing on them halfway during the second quarter [vs. the Cowboys].”

Shanahan spoke in length about quarterback Jordan Love

Shanahan had this to say about Love:

“He’s come a long way because he’s playing at such a high level. To get thrown in there early this year and have to go through some ups and downs, which he did some good things earlier in this year too.

To not win all those games, when you’re with a tough record in your first year, the pressure that comes with that, and just to watch him each game, he’s been consistent. For him to take care of the ball the way he has done has been unbelievable. The 21 touchdowns and one pick, I think, over the last 10 games is unbelievable.

He’s extremely consistent in what they’re asking him to do. [Green Bay Packers head coach] Matt’s [LaFleur] very good at coaching the quarterback and you can see that their quarterback is buying in. He plays very well in their system and makes a lot of plays. He has a big arm and is a big dude too.”

I will be interesting to see what the 49ers have in store for this red hot Packers offense.  They certainly don’t seem to be taking the Packers lightly (which is what many analysts seem to think the Cowboys did).
