Romeo Doubs was a rookie trying to find his way with the Green Bay Packers a season ago. Entering his second season in the NFL as a fourth-round pick in 2022 out of Nevada, he is hoping things will be different. Doubs is listed as the number two receiver on the depth chart while Christian Watson is listed as the top wide receiver for this football team.
Doubs has had a solid preseason up to this point for the Green Bay Packers. He caught two passes for 52 yards receiving against the New England Patriots and averaged 26.0 yards per catch. In the first preseason, game Doubs caught two passes for 21 yards receiving and one touchdown against the Cincinnati Bengals and averaged 10.5 yards per catch in that contest.
He has shown a ton of promise this preseason and he also has trust in quarterback Jordan Love. A season ago, Romeo Doubs caught 42 passes for 425 yards and just three touchdowns. He averaged 10.1 yards per catch last year. With being the number two wide receiver on the roster, expect his numbers to go up big time this season. Doubs is also the highest-ranked wide receiver this preseason , according to PFF.
Romeo Doubs Working His Way Up
A season ago, the Packers had Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb on the roster, so it was more difficult for Doubs to get consistent play time on the field. Christain Watson was also ahead of him on the depth chart. The wide receiver position is much different this season.
This is a very young group and they will go through growing pains once again. Doubs has had a small sample size of success this preseason and he has made some tough catches. One of those tough catches came against the New England Patriots on a 42-yard reception. The potential is there for him to reach during the 2023 regular season.

For this Packers offense to succeed this season, Romeo Doubs will have to have more yards, receptions, and touchdowns. The Packers will face defenses that are not that tough for the first four weeks of the season. They also have a favorable schedule and will see how this offense operates.
