Richard Sherman is one of many athletes who has made his way into the podcast/media side of sports. Even when he was a player he made headlines for negotiating his own contract and advocating for players to be more respected. After the Aaron Rodgers trade, he had some things to say about the Green Bay Packers.
"Green Bay Packers, nobody will fear you going forward. Understand that."

Richard Sherman’s Comments
Richard Sherman seems to be on the train of thought that this Packers team will struggle tremendously after losing Aaron Rodgers. The closing comments in the clip are what really stand out. Sherman claims that the Packers didn’t appreciate Rodgers on the way out. Richard Sherman has always been an advocate for player treatment and pay, so it would make sense that he would take Rodgers’s side here.
However, his comments about teams not fearing the Green Bay Packers seem too soon. Yes, teams will not fear the Packers as they did with Aaron Rodgers, but to say they will not fear the Packers at all seems unfair. To say Jordan Love will reach the level of play Aaron Rodgers did is unrealistic, but it does not mean he can’t be a great player. Richard Sherman’s comments come across as disrespectful in the sense that he is not even giving Jordan Love a chance.
NFC North Outlook
The Packers did not win the NFC North in 2022. They will not be favored to win in 2023, especially after losing Aaron Rodgers. However, the division does not seem to have a clear-cut winner. Obviously, the Vikings and Lions will be the favorites to win, but both of those teams have their question marks as well. The Lions seemed to catch some fire last year and almost snuck into the playoffs, despite having the league’s worst defense. The Vikings were great last year but played in plenty of one-possession games. The Bears, outside of Justin Fields’ running ability, do not seem to have a plan of attack on offense.
Jordan Love will have plenty of young, talented receiver group, two veteran running backs, a great offensive line and an innovative, offensive-minded head coach. Despite who the sportsbooks say the favorite will be, the Packers are by no means out of the running to win the division.

Sherman’s opinion sizing up the Pack is accurate. The QB depth is gone. You can cover yours ears, scream out any disparaging words. But, next season as it’s stacked out to be won’t be a good one. You can’t use the defense to provide most of the points on the score board. The big questions are how and why did we get here? Unfortunately, the staff did not plan for this. I fear that a contingency plan was not even imagined. Bad execution, poor management has lead to this. I think that the Pack should stop trying to get top line receivers for a less-than top line QB. Instead, the team should look for veterans to recover cash for the future

Sherman’s opinion about sizing up the Pack is accurate. You can get stuck your head in the same. You can deny the facts. Or, you can do the best with what you have and learn from the mistakes. Rodgers is gone. The QB depth is gone. You can cover yours ears, scream out against any disparaging words. It is what it is. Next season won’t be a good one. I fear that a contingency plan was not even imagined. Bad execution, poor management has lead to this. I think that the Pack should stop trying to get top line receivers for a less-than top line QB. Instead, the team should look for available veterans and recover cash for the future.
