Josh Jacobs was placed on the franchise tag by the Las Vegas Raiders last Tuesday, but he does not plan on showing up to training camp for them anytime soon. As a matter of fact, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, Josh Jacobs boarded a flight leaving the Las Vegas area.

Raiders Running Back Josh Jacobs Spotted Leaving Las Vegas
This isn’t a surprise to anyone because it feels like there is no reason for him to suit up for the Las Vegas Raiders at all this season unless he is traded elsewhere. That is very well in play, and we will see what happens. Josh Jacobs led the NFL in rushing a season ago. In 17 games played, he rushed for 1,653 yards and 12 TDs on 340 carries.
Josh Jacobs averaged 4.9 yards per carry. He also caught 53 passes for 400 yards receiving. Jacobs averaged 7.5 yards per catch last season as well. He is a do-it-all running back and is entering his fifth season in the NFL. He feels like he needs to be paid, and rightfully so.
Also, during the 2023 NFL regular season, he was second in the NFL in rushing attempts and fifth in the NFL in rushing touchdowns, to go along with being the top rusher in the league. Josh Jacobs feels like he isn’t being respected. A lot of running backs in the NFL feel this way. Who is currently the Raiders starting running back?
Could Zamir White Be the Raiders’ RB1?
Zamir White is projected to be the starting running back for the Las Vegas Raiders this season if Josh Jacobs does hold out. White only rushed for 70 yards last season and averaged 4.1 yards per carry on 17 carries. He was a fourth-round pick (122nd selection) in the 2022 NFL Draft out of Georgia.
Zamir White is ready to take on a big role for them this season if Josh Jacobs does not show up at all or gets traded to another NFL team. The Las Vegas Raiders are projected to be one of the worst NFL teams this season, and with Josh Jacobs leaving Vegas via flight, this only makes matters even worse.
