One thing I love about an NFL season is how fluid and changing it can be. SEE: Joe Barry’s defense in 2021. With so many questions coming into training camp (Davante Adams GONE, Bakhtiari & Jenkins ACL’s, rookies ALL OVER), and so many still to be answered (cuz nobody played in the preseason), I need to warn you: What you see in week 1 WON’T be what you see in weeks 5, 8, 12 or 17. It never is.
On this week’s “Wickett ON Wisconsin” podcast, I wanted to make sure you know what’s coming in the 1st quarter of the season. The passing game will need time. The run game will shine. The defense will need to be elite early (not worried about that). Special teams will suck. A lot of this will evolve by the time we get to October but at the end of the year, you’re going to see a familiar number next to the Packers in the win column and a familiar team on top of the NFC North. I just don’t want you to be surprised by the 1st 4 weeks of the year (AKA: “extended preseason”). I’ve got picks, predictions and more! Enjoy!
