Dontayvion Wicks Scouting Report
Per NFL Draft Buzz, Wicks has the following strengths and weaknesses:
Strengths
- Has elite balance tight-roping the sideline and in-and-out of his breaks, showing excellent start-stop ability and burst
- Has the strong hands any NFL wide receiver coach and quarterback would covet. Tracks the deep ball over either shoulder and brings in passes fluidly without breaking stride downfield
- An impressive athlete with very quick acceleration to reach his top speed quickly and stretch the field. Very good body control and smooth movements. Plays fast and explosive
Weaknesses
- Does not always use his hands to secure deep throws, sometimes allowing the ball into his pads and chest
- He’ll have to develop a better feel for sitting down against zone coverage

Dontayvion Wicks in Mock Drafts
According to NFL Mock Draft Database, Wicks is a projected fourth-round pick. His combination of size and ball skills make him an attractive receiver for many teams. Below is list of mock drafts and where they have Wicks being taken.
- Arrowhead Addict – Fourth round: Chiefs

- Bucs Wire – Fifth round: Bucs
Would Dontayvion Wicks Fit on the Packers?
The Packers could use another young wide receiver on the roster and Wicks fits the type that GM Brian Gutekunst usually likes to draft. Drops were a problem last season so having a receiver who is sure-handed is attractive. Standing at 6’2″ also means Wicks can play on the outside and Christian Watson could become a matchup nightmare in the slot.
Check Out Another Prospect That Could Fit For the Packers
There is a glut of wide receiver talent in the mid-rounds. I would be very surprised if Gutekunst drafted a first round wide receiver and instead waited to find value in the later rounds. Keep an eye on Wicks on day 3 if he still is on the board.
