The Green Bay Packers have plenty of decisions to make in the offseason, some of them must be hard ones to pull off, especially when it concerns beloved franchise assets. Take for example the pair of offensive tackle David Bakhtiari and running back Aaron Jones, who might have already played their last game in Packers threads.

Figure out what to do with aging high-priced veterans like OT David Bakhtiari, RB Aaron Jones and LBs De’Vondre Campbell and Preston Smith. They’re all under contract for next season, but it’s hard to imagine any of them being back at their current scheduled salaries.
What Will The Green Bay Packers Do With David Bakhtiari, Aaron Jones?
Bakhtiari has never played for another team outside of the Packers so far in his NFL career, but he’s been finding it difficult to stay healthy over the last three seasons. He only played a game in 2021 and 11 in 2022. In 2023, he appeared in only one game before getting ruled out for the remainder of the NFL calendar due to knee surgery. There is still a year remaining on his current contract, which will pay him a base salary of $10.7 million in 2024. That’s a hefty price tag for a talented but oft-injured asset.
As for Jones, he also has a year left on his current deal, one that will pay him $11.1 million in base salary in 2024. However, he’s already 30 years old and has also played in only 11 games in 2023, having missed several outings because of injuries.
