With three games remaining in the 2022 season, Keisean Nixon has a legitimate shot at breaking one team kick return record. He is also close to a couple more milestones as a returner.
Nixon has been averaging just under 90 yards per game on kick-off returns. He has also added just over 30 yards per game on punt returns. He has 712 kick-off return yards and 92 punt return yards for a total of 804 kick return yards on the season.
Keisean Nixon projected for 1,000-yard kick return season
Based on his numbers through Week #15 in 2022, Nixon is projected to have 1,161 kick return yards for the season. That would make him the 12th player in Packers’ history to have 1,000 or more kick return yards in a season. It has been 10 years since a Packer player had 1,000+ kick return yards in a season (Randall Cobb, 1,256 in 2012).
Here are the 11 Packers’ players who have seasons with 1,000+ kick return yards.

1,555-Will Blackmon, 2008
1,538-Allen Rossum, 2000
1,335-Desmond Howard, 1996
1,314-Dave Hampton, 1971
1,256-Randall Cobb, 2012
1,236-Randall Cobb, 2011
1,155-Billy Grimes, 1950
1,092-Al Carmichael, 1956
1,081-Antonio Chatman, 2003
1,034-Steve Odom, 1975
One record well within reach for Nixon is most consecutive games with 100+ kick return yards. He currently has a five-game streak with 100 or more kick return yards. That ties him with Roell Preston (1998) for the Green Bay record, Both Nixon and Preston are in the group of 50 NFL players who had 100+ kick return yards in five straight contests.
Wiil Keisean Nixon break the Pack record?
If Nixon gets 100+ kick return yards versus the Dolphins this Sunday, he will break the Packers’ record. He will also become one of 18 NFL players to have 100+ kick return yards in six consecutive games.
For the record, the NFL record is 15 straight games with 100+ kick return yards held by Michael Lewis of New Orleans.
One final stat: Nixon’s five games this season with 100+ kick return yards is the first time a returner has had five games in a season with 100+ kick return yards since 2012. Cobb did it that year. Roell Preston holds the Green Bay single-season record with nine games in 1998 with 100+ kick return yards. If Nixon can add three more games to his five, he would join Allen Rossum and Will Blackmon with eight games with 100+ kick return yards in a season for the Pack.
The Packers’ career record for most career games with 100+ kick return yards is 16 games held by Steve Odom.
