The Green Bay Packers are going to be a very interesting team to watch this offseason. With Aaron Rodgers likely leaving town and Jordan Love taking over at quarterback, Brian Gutekunst and company have so many options with the direction they want to head. That makes the upcoming 2023 NFL Draft even more intriguing as well.
Granted, everyone will be watching what the Packers do in free agency first and foremost. They have ways to create some money and could add some talented pieces to the roster.
While everyone is focused on the Packers’ offense and what they will do around Love, the defense could use some more help as well. They have holes at the safety position and could also look to add another cornerback or pass-rusher. Gutekunst really can’t go wrong with adding the best talent he can at any position.
All of that being said, the Packers are showing interest once again in another Georgia defender.
Packers Interested In Georgia Cornerback Kelee Ringo In NFL Draft
During the 2023 NFL Draft Combine, the Packers had a meeting with Kelee Ringo. He would be an intriguing addition at cornerback and would add yet another Bulldogs’ defender to a roster that drafted both Quay Walker and Devonte Wyatt last year in the draft.
🚨One of the top-ranked DB prospects #Georgia CB Kelee Ringo formally met with, per league source:

Standing in at 6-foot-2 and 210 pounds, Ringo is a big cornerback and would give Green Bay a great third option behind Jaire Alexander and Eric Stokes. The move could also allow the team to move Rasul Douglas to a safety position. That alone would fill a major void on the defensive side of the ball.
During the 2022 season at Georgia, Ringo ended up recording 42 total tackles to go along with a forced fumble, two interceptions, and seven defended passes. In his freshman season with the Bulldogs, he racked up 34 tackles, a sack, two interceptions, a defensive touchdown, and eight defended passes.

Needless to say, the talent is there for Ringo to be a special NFL player in the future. If the Packers want to address their defense more, he would be a quality addition to make.
NFL.com has made an intriguing comparison for Ringo. They have him compared to longtime cornerback Jimmy Smith. Smith was a good player throughout his career and it’s a comparison that looks good for Ringo.
Expect to see the Packers look to be aggressive this offseason. They may not add any star players, but they will look to improve their roster and stay in contention. Ringo could be a nice piece to help their defense continue towards an elite level of play.
