Packers fans upset with Joe Barry after TNF loss

The Green Bay Packers lost to the Tennessee Titans on Thursday Night Football. The Packers’ offense started off strong, while the defense couldn’t get keep the Titans off the Field. The Titans dominated the time of possession in the first half. Although, the time of possession was a little closer at the end of the game.

The Packers’ defense was more sturdy in the fourth quarter. The unit got enough stops for the Packers’ offense to give the team a chance. (Interception, punt, punt, on three consecutive drives by the Titans.) Unfortunately for the Packers, the offense could not score. The Titans surprised the Packers with a deep pass on their last drive to get a first down. Then the Titans ran out the clock to win the game.

Packers fans were pretty upset about the performance that knocked the team’s record to 4-7. The Packers did a good job of neutralizing the Titans’ rushing attack. Running back Derrick Henry, the league’s second-leading rusher heading into the game, finished with 87 yards on 28 carries. However, the Titans had their way passing the football. Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill finished with 333 passing yards and two touchdowns.

    Twitter is all over Barry

Packers fans took to Twitter during and after the game to roast Barry. Many fans blamed him for the Packers’ failure to beat the Titans. Here were some of the best comments on Twitter Thursday night.

The number 31 passing offense is destroying our defense. How can you not fire Joe Barry after this?

Joe Barry shouldn’t have a job tomorrow but lafleur will say “absolutely not” when asked about making a change. Because he’s soft. https://t.co/UuWpiNGaPS

I won’t understand why the @packers hired him. Or kept him around. He’s Pettine Jr https://t.co/szGenlpEtd

So sick of the lame defensive play calling, I hate when they play zone defense. They also need a D.B. coach who will teach their cornerbacks to stay in front of the W.R. so they can see the Q.B. at all times, mirror & blanket the W.R.’s they’re covering instead of letting the W.R. go by & then trail him! The Q.B.’s are too good for that coverage. Either overthrow the receivers or drop it right on the money, just don’t underthrow the receivers, they’re too good & it’s too easy! Keep the receivers in front of you & the interceptions will go way up! Look at Sauce Gardener he’s a rookie & he covers receivers like that already & he’s tied for league lead in int’s. And he’s a rookie! If they G.M. & Coach would quit drafting 10-12 players every year only to cut 4-6 of them either by the end of camp,or if they’re lucky the next year after the draft. Trade up a couple times in the draft & get 4-6 players who will start day one,& possibly be pro bowl caliber players! They don’t need 10-12 players, the last few years they were only a couple/few players away from winning it all. Like the one year Terrible Ted Thompson actually had a good draft he drafted B.J. Raji around pick #10,and then traded back into the 1st rd pick #31 or #32 & took Clay Matthews. The next year they’re winning the Super Bowl.Thompson & now Guety are & have wasted 5-10 yrs on both Favre & Rodgers careers by not drafting the help they needed, and not bringing in the free agent positions needed! Guety has been way better than Ted with free agents. They both should have 2-4 Super Bowls!!! Almost all the W.R.’s they’ve drafted in the 1st rd have been AWESOME! Lofton,Sharpe,Walker, all pro-bowl players,Lofton is in the H.O.F. Sterling Sharpe will be & should already be in the H.O.F. what he did his 2nd year with Majikowski, especially with Favre! First player with 100+ receptions in multiple yrs in a row. Had he not got hurt he would be considered the best W.R. to ever play the game!!! He was putting up numbers above Jerry Rice. Favre was really getting good when he got hurt, and he was always double if not triple covered & still couldn’t stop him.Javon Walker was well on his way to a great career but Ted wouldn’t pay him,so trade him away for a 2nd rd pick if I remember correctly? We draft him in the 1st rd, develop him into a pro bowl player & trade him for a 2nd rd pick, same with Davante Adam’s this year, year, W.R. in the game & trade him for a 2nd rd pick! Are you kidding me!!! It should’ve been 2 1st rd picks, at least a 1st & 2nd, brilliant! (Not) Look what Detroit got for Hockessin, and what Pittsburgh got for Claypool. They gave Davante away,I would’ve demanded Waller their T.E. or the picks i mentioned That was typical Ted there,he did that several times. Hopefully this coming yr Guety will either go W.R. or D.E./L.B. in the first 2 rds, while they had Jennings,Jordy,Driver,Cobb,Adams,& other’s they should’ve been building the defense! Offense was best in the league, but defense couldn’t stop high school teams. Thompsons worthless 1st rd picks many times,Reynolds,Justin Harrell,Hawk, etc… Harrell especially, the guy never played a full season in college, injury prone, probably could’ve got him in the 3rd rd. Get an aggressive Defensive Coordinator like Leslie Frasier,Rex Ryan,or Todd Bowles type. Quit screwing around & get Rodgers another ring before he leaves. Wake up & build a wicked defense like the Eagles had with Buddy Ryan because when Rodgers is done it’ll probably be a while before they get another Q.B. like they’ve had for the last 30 yrs. They won’t get that lucky again.
