The Minnesota Vikings, Green Bay’s division rival, have emerged as a contender to sign star WR Odell Beckham Jr. is currently a free agent and has been linked to multiple teams when it comes to where he might sign. Since tearing his ACL in the second quarter of Super Bowl LVI, Beckham Jr. has diligently rehabbed his injury. Realistically he won’t be ready until December to make his return.
Odell has options when it comes to where he wants to sign. Teams like the Buffalo Bills, LA Rams, Kansas City Chiefs, and even the Green Bay Packers are all legitimate possibilities for Beckham Jr. However, more recently the Minnesota Vikings came into the discussion as a possible landing spot. At 5-1, the Vikings lead the way in the NFC North. Minnesota is the biggest threat to Green Bay within the division. If the Vikings can lure Beckham Jr away from Green Bay the talent gap between the two teams will continue to widen.
Would the Vikings be the best option for Odell Beckham Jr?
Let’s face it, Odell Beckham Jr. wants to sign with a Super Bowl contender. It’s still a little too early in the season to decide if the Minnesota Vikings fit that description. However, at 5-1, Minnesota looks like a very strong team. Minnesota already has one of the best WR duos in the NFL with Justin Jefferson and Adam Thielen. Would Odell be okay with the possibility of being the third-best option on the team? Beckham Jr seemed to play well on the LA Rams last year despite Cooper Kupp being the star WR of that team. With so many rumors circling about Odell’s destination, there is still no clear frontrunner. One thing is for certain, it’ll be extremely interesting to see where Beckham Jr ends up.
