Former Green Bay Packers Wide Receiver Greg Jennings Angers Jets Fans with Dismal Prediction for Aaron Rodgers’ First 6 Games

Former Green Bay Packers wide receiver Greg Jennings has, at times, angered fans with his controversial remarks about the team. After he departed from Green Bay via free agency, to play for the Minnesota Vikings, no less, Jennings made waves within the fanbase with comments that he made about Rodgers’ leadership and the team in general.

Over the last few years, however, Jennings has tried to repair the bridges he burned with the fans. Most “wounds” were forgiven when he was inducted into the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame in September of 2022.

While Jennings’ standing among Packers fans has improved, he may have a whole new fanbase angry at him now. Recent comments he made about the start of the New York Jets’ 2023 season had many fans upset.

The Jets have a very difficult schedule in 2023, and the first six games of the season are no walk in the park. The first third of their season is as follows:

    • Week One- vs. Buffalo Bills
    • Week Two- at Dallas Cowboys
    • Week Three- vs. New England Patriots
    • Week Four- vs. Kansas City Chiefs
    • Week Five- at Denver Broncos
    • Week Six- vs Philadelphia Eagles

New York then will hit their Bye Week in Week Seven. While on “The Carton Show” on Friday, Jennings predicted that Rodgers and the Jets would go into their Bye 1-5.

The host, Craig Carton, who is a Jets fan, did not agree:

Now, while it may seem like Jennings is just trying to stir the pot, it is important to remember that he accurately predicted in August of 2022 that the Vikings would dethrone the Packers in the NFC North. While it may sometimes seem like Jennings is taking shots, he is really just calling it like he sees it.

What he sees is a team that went 7-10 (and lost six games in a row to end the year) in 2022 starting the 2023 season against four 2022 NFL Playoff teams. The only two that did not make it were the Patriots (who finished 8-9) and the Broncos (4-13).

Additionally, he sees a team that added a quarterback who will turn 40 years old in December who had a down year in 2022. While most people expect Rodgers to bounce back in 2023, there are no guarantees that he will.

The Jets also added many aging free agents (Randall Cobb, for example) and did little to really improve their wide receiving room (Packers fans all know how the passing game looked with Cobb and Allen Lazard on the team last year).

Perhaps most importantly, though, Jennings sees a team with one of the worst offensive lines in the NFL. If Rodgers cannot be kept upright or is forced to be a mobile quarterback, the Jets will indeed struggle.

More likely 3-3 possibly 4-2. Jennings is a whiney bitch. Always has been. Overrated wr.
