A former Green Bay Packers offensive lineman used colorful language to describe Sean Payton after an interview was published this week where the first-year Denver Broncos head coach attacked the Nathaniel Hackett regime.

    Packers News

Hackett, a former Packers offensive coordinator, was fired after being the head coach of the Broncos for 15 games last season. Payton ripped Hackett’s staff for how they handled quarterback Russell Wilson’s transition after his trade to the Broncos.

Payton said Hackett might have been the worst coach in NFL history. To add more insults before the 2023 regular season gets underway, Payton criticized the New York Jets for how they dealt with the fanfare surrounding the team after Aaron Rodgers was traded there this season.

According to Dov Kleiman, former Packers offensive lineman Billy Turner didn’t take the high road his new head coach, Robert Saleh, did after the interview was published. Turner, who played for Hackett with the Broncos last season and is reunited with him again on the Jets, called Payton a “f—ing bum.”

Former Packers players (and there will be a lot of them on the Jets sideline) could have the most to be fired up in the contest.

The situation is kind of ironic. If Rodgers had chosen to be traded to the Broncos last offseason…
