The Buffalo Bills made some important NFL this offseason with major coaching changes after losing to the Cincinnati Bengals in the Divisional Round of the playoffs. They announced another change Wednesday morning.
The Bills chose to make a big change on defense earlier this offseason. Leslie Frazier and the Bills reached a mutual agreement for the former defensive coordinator to leave the team. (Due to the timing of that decision, Frazier was unable to find another defensive coordinator job for this season.)

Washington has been the Bills’ defensive line coach since the 2020 season. He was promoted to senior defensive assistant before last season.

Washington earned his debut as an NFL coach as a rival of the Green Bay Packers. He was hired as a Chicago Bears defensive assistant in 2008. He became a defensive line coach for the Bears in 2010. Washington served as the Carolina Panthers’ defensive coordinator for the 2018-19 seasons.
Now it looks like Washington is getting ever closer to becoming a defensive coordinator for the Bills or a head coach in the league. He could be a candidate for the Packers if Joe Barry, who is on the hot seat, isn’t retained after this season.
