A Green Bay Packers wide receiver reportedly missed Wednesday’s practice due to a hamstring injury. The Packers are holding joint practices with the New England Patriots this week ahead of their preseason matchup on Saturday.
The practices are an opportunity for players and coaches to get extra work against an opponent instead of just practicing against a squad they see every week. It’s not a great time for players to miss with injury. However, the Packers have several players blatting injuries this month.

Melton was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in the seventh round of last year’s draft. The Packers signed him in December. He has no stats in the NFL yet.
Melton needs opportunities to show improvement yet in training camp if he hopes to make the 53-man roster. He caught one pass for three yards in the Packers’ preseason game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
