The Green Bay Packers made what one beat writer is calling a “major change” in the team’s lineup during practice on Sunday. We’ll see if the Packers decide to follow through with the switch for their next preseason game against the New England Patriots Saturday.
The Packers know one thing about their safety rotation: Darnell Savage is the starter. After Adrian Amos signed with the New York Jets this offseason, the Packers are still trying to determine who will start alongside him.
Rudy Ford and Jonathan Owens are one and two on the depth chart beside Savage. But seventh-round rookie Anthony Johnson Jr. is gaining momentum in the preseason. He led the team in tackles against the Cincinnati Bengals Friday night with five total tackles.
