When Aaron Rodgers went down just four snaps into his much-awaited New York Jets debut, most fans initially thought that the four-time MVP had suffered some sort of minor knock. Or perhaps he had a case of cramps amid all the excitement surrounding his first game for New York.
However, everything came crashing down when he had to be carted off the field shortly after the injury.
Aaron Rodgers Takes to Instagram After Surgery

As it turns out, this was anything but a minor injury. Rodgers’ and the Jets’ worst nightmare was realized when it was revealed that the four-time league MVP had suffered a full tear on his left Achilles and that this meant that he was done for the year.
On Wednesday, Rodgers underwent surgery, which was performed by Los Angeles Rams and Dodgers team doctor Neal ElAttrache. The Jet quarterback was all smiles in a photo he posted on Instagram on Thursday as he provided an optimistic update on his procedure:
“Surgery went great yesterday. Thank you for all the love and prayers and support. And thanks to the 🐐 Dr ElAttrache and his staff for starting me on the road to recovery ❤️” Rodgers wrote.

It’s going to be a long road ahead for Rodgers now that he has to recover from an injury of such nature. Coming back from a full Achilles tear is hard enough, but for A-Rod to have to do it at the age of 39 would be a gargantuan challenge, to say the least.

Be that as it may, if there was one man who could do it, that would be Mr. Aaron Rodgers.
Aaron Rodgers is Not Done Yet

It isn’t at all surprising that all sorts of retirement rumors have popped up left and right amid this disastrous turn of events. Rodgers himself had already contemplated retirement multiple times in the past, and surely, hanging up his boots must have crossed his mind throughout this recent debacle.
The 10-time Pro Bowl quarterback broke his silence on Wednesday with an inspiring Instagram message as he hinted at his career plans amid this injury:

While he did not directly deny the retirement rumors, Rodgers did declare that he “shall rise yet again.” If I were a betting man, I’d place my money on the great Aaron Rodgers being back on the field for the Jets’ season opener in 2024.
